Create Azure Anthropic Models

You can create Azure Anthropic models manually through the Azure portal.

note

Required Anthropic models are available in the following region:

  • East US 2

Create Manually​

  1. Go to Azure portal and navigate to Microsoft Foundry.

  2. Under Use with foundry >> Foundry, click Create.

  3. Configure the foundry details:

    • Resource Group: Select the resource group where AKS cluster exists. If deployed using marketplace, the resource group name will be like mrg-penfield-app-xxxxx.
    • Name: penfield-<company-name>-ai-foundry-eastus2
    • Region: Select East US 2
    • Default project name: penfield-<company-name>-ai-foundry-eastus2

  4. Click Review + create, then click Create again to create the foundry.

  5. Once the foundry is created, navigate to the resource by clicking on penfield-<company-name>-ai-foundry-eastus2 in the list.

  6. Click on "Go to foundry portal" to access the foundry portal.

  7. Verify that the project/foundry is correct when you are inside the foundry portal.

  8. On the sidebar at the bottom left, under My assets, click on Models + endpoints.

  9. Click on Deploy model and choose Deploy base model.

  10. Wait until models get loaded.

  11. Search for claude in the search bar. You will see all the Claude models available.

  12. Create the following three models by repeating the deployment process for each:

    1. claude-sonnet-4-5

    • Choose claude-sonnet-4-5 and click Confirm.
    • Select industry "Technology" and click Agree and proceed.
    • Click on Customize and make sure the limit is minimum 250K tokens.
    • Click Deploy.

    2. claude-haiku-4-5

    • Go back and repeat the process.
    • Choose claude-haiku-4-5 and click Confirm.
    • Select industry "Technology" and click Agree and proceed.
    • Click on Customize and make sure the limit is minimum 250K tokens.
    • Click Deploy.

    3. claude-opus-4-1

    • Go back and repeat the process.
    • Choose claude-opus-4-1 and click Confirm.
    • Select industry "Technology" and click Agree and proceed.
    • Click on Customize and make sure the limit is minimum 250K tokens.
    • Click Deploy.

    Note: The availability of models and versions may vary based on the region and subscription.

  13. After creating each model, verify that the State shows as Succeeded for all three models.

  14. Once all models are created and in Succeeded state, in the Microsoft Foundry portal, click on Overview.

  15. Copy the following information and share it securely with Penfield:

    • Microsoft Foundry project endpoint
    • API Key

All the required Anthropic models will be deployed at this stage, please proceed to deploy the application.
